Difference between 16-bit, 24-bit and 32-bit colors?
With the screen, photos, pictures, ... you get the 16-bit, 24-bit and 32-bit colors, or number of colors!
The number of color combinations RGB and the alpha channel make the difference. Regardless of whether you are displaying images, watching a video or, ... a higher color depth is visually more appealing, but all components must also master or support this!
16-bit color
Older computers, monitors and smartphones can also display up to 65,536 colors, which is sufficient for most applications.
24-bit color
Also called true color, computers and monitors can display up to 16 million different color combinations.
32-bit color
Like 24-bit color, however, it has an alpha channel, with better gradients, shadows, and transparencies. The alpha channel leads to> 4 billion color combinations.
PS:
Most users can't tell that much difference between 16-bit and 32-bit. With programs with color gradients, shadows, transparency ... you notice a difference. The advantages of a higher color depth is visually more appealing, possibly more pleasant for the eyes!
