Questions for this: In response I must simply say "??? Afraid I don't know."
The closest I can get to providing any sort of answer is that when I click on the drop-down for DesktopOK on the program's Menu bar, and click on 'Register *.dok for DesktopOK it tells me that "This entry must be made in the registration." I've restarted the program as admin, but that doesn't seem to have helped.
I first installed the program some months ago, and I did get the program icon to appear of the desktop. It was there, and it helped me keep the rest of the program icons arranged on the desktop just as the program seemed designed to do.
However, over the weeks that has seen the updates take over (that's not just DesktopOK but also the Windows updates) somewhere the icon disappeared off the desktop.
I tried pretty much everything to get it back, from a complete clearout of the program files in the PC, to using RegEdit to rid the PC and its registry of all references to the program.
At that point I didn't believe I had any old stuff which would adversely affect a new installation, so that when I did install v6.51 from the .zip file I downloaded from your website, I hoped it would be a clean install. Sadly I still get no icon on the desktop. The only way I've been able to get this to occur is by finding the DesktopOK_x64.exe file and dragging that onto the desktop, which I'm sure isn't the best way to get the icon so I can click on it, and appear to start the program (even though I've selected 'Start with Windows').
Anyway, that's the point when I felt it appropriate to ask for help - and why I'm not sure I understand the question in your response.
Is the program supposed to create its own icon on the desktop? Should it not register the .dok itself?
