What is Command Prompt?

It is the command prompt, available as a command line interpreter application in most Windows, Linux, MAC, ... operating systems!

A command prompt / console traditionally refers to a computer terminal at which a user can enter commands and view output, e.g. B. the results of commands entered or status messages from the computer. The console is often connected to a remote computer or computer system that is controlled from the console.

The command prompt (Command Prompt) is sometimes incorrectly referred to as "DOS prompt" or MS-DOS itself. The command prompt is a Windows program that emulates many of the command line capabilities available in MS-DOS, but it is not MS-DOS.
