What is a DLL file?

A DLL file is a library with functions that almost all programs can access!

The dynamic program library is a type of file that contains instructions that other programs can call to perform specific tasks. In this way, multiple programs can share the capabilities programmed in a single file, even at the same time.

DLL are also created to optimize the size of the system!

So that every program does not have to have the same functions, functions are simply loaded from the corresponding library and used. In contrast to executable programs with EXE file extensions , DLL files cannot be started or executed directly, but must be called by other programs or scripts!

Most Dynamic Link libraries end with the file extension .DLL!

Some also use .OCX, .CPL, .DRV, ... etc. as an extension! DLLs also offer the possibility of updating only parts of a program without having to rebuild or reinstall the entire program, i.e. only the corresponding DLL or the EXE file is updated
