Query CPU usage via the cmd.exe Windows command prompt?

Yes, the CPU load can also be queried via the cmd.exe on all Windows 11, 10, ... OS via the command prompt!

How do I get total CPU usage from Windows Command Prompt?: In Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7 you can use the command line to get information about the CPU installed on your PC. If you need to print it out, or just need to view your CPU details without restarting your PC or using a third-party tool, follow these steps.

C: \ Windows> wmic cpu get loadpercentage
LoadPercentage

15th

C: \ Windows>

Or via Powershell:

PS C:\> Powershell "Get-Counter '\Processor(*)\% Processor Time' | Select -Expand Countersamples | Select InstanceName, CookedValue"

InstanceName      CookedValue
------------      -----------
0            12.5374427207712
1            14.0992741007575
2            12.5374427207712
3            18.7847682407162
_total       14.4897269478936

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>
......

Info:

While this trick can't replace powerful apps like AIDA64 or HWiNFO, it's a good option to quickly view the information without third-party tools. If necessary, it can be used in various automation scripts. If you need to use GUI tools, you can view some CPU information through the built-in Task Manager tool. In "More Details" mode there is a "Performance" tab that shows the CPU name and its clock:
