Here come open stuff and suggestions for QTP / done and open!
1.) Open stuff in Quick Text Paste!
• Paste an image from the clipboard into a program.
With its own key combination (eg 'right Windows key + I') I would like to call the program 'Irfanview' and insert an image (eg screenshot) from the clipboard into the then empty, open program window. Manually it is not a problem to call 'Irfanview' and then 'Ctrl + V' to insert the image stored in the clipboard. But is more complicated than a shortcut in QTP.
The insertion of an existing image with the call of 'Irfanview' by QTP (with the assignment 'C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view64.exe' C:\Testbild.jpg') works perfectly and proves that it is possible in principle , I would like to insert the contents of the clipboard instead of an existing image file. I did not succeed with any function in QTP (like 'runx', 'cpy', 'paste' etc.), so far
-> a) is this possible with QTP?
-> b) how does it work?
It is currently only available for files via the clipboard

• Replace characters with 'replace'.
In a marked section I want to replace all underscores (Low Line ASCII 95 dec) with spaces (Space ASCII 32 dec). I did not succeed with the 'replace' function. Obviously I'm doing a mistake.
-> a) how does it work (if it works at all)?
-> b) does this also work with file names (if this is marked as 'Rename' with Windows F2 function)?
The Replace function must be revised!
• Special character "&" is not displayed in the shortcut menu.
In the 'QuickTextPaste.ini' I inserted a "&" (Ampasand ASCII 38 dec) under the entries of my own key combination 'Ctrl + Alt + W' (eg 'Mustermann & Partner'). Instead of this character, the shortcut menu on the screen, however, displays only a space. However, the "&" character is still passed correctly to the respective open program!
Incidentally, the same happens when I insert the "&" in the QTP default entry 'Character Map' (right Windows key + X). All other special characters are displayed correctly. Just at "&" creates a blank line.
That's a bug!
• Tooltip with wrong display!
In this context (see paragraph '• Special characters ...') I have found that with active option 'Info Tooltip Show' after calling the 'Character Map' (right Windows key + X)
a) contrary to the intended Reaction but a tool tip appears (see 'PS' in nä. Abs.), And
b) in this tooltip instead of the possibly corresponding character respectively the equivalent entry of my own
keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Alt + W) appears, (although this yes in the .ini another 'list_order', or 'list_label' is assigned).
That's a bug!
• Special characters with strange display.
In the 'QuickTextPaste.ini' I have added the QTP default entry 'Character Map' (right Windows key + X) to all the special characters of a QWERZ keyboard. All characters (except "&", see section '• Special characters ...') are displayed correctly on the screen and ALL are also transferred to the open program. It should probably all special characters on the screen with a preceding, yellow FOLDER icon are displayed. Sometimes, however, with some special characters (depending on the call again and again others) a FILE icon appears instead (although in white, this was also yellow in older versions). Although this is more of a 'blemish', as he obviously does not affect the intended function, but still irritating, because not comprehensible.
That's a bug!

When testing with a completely new / empty 'QuickTextPaste.ini' when calling the 'Character Map' (right Windows key + X)
-> a) (probably correct) no tooltips are displayed (see contrast Abs. '• Tooltip with. .. ')
-> b) the special characters on the screen are unfortunately not displayed in the .ini file entered order.
That's a bug!
• Sorting error.
In the QTP program window, the entries in the columns' Text ', Keyboard shortcuts' ... etc. should be sorted by clicking on the column header. An arrowhead next to the column title then indicates the sort direction (ascending or descending). However, the 'sorting' of the columns 'ID' and 'menu order' is rather random.
That's a bug!
Note: All the above points can be reproduced on my PC in the ug (test) 'QuickTextPaste.ini'.
2.) Do things in Quick Text Paste!
• QTP program window always starts in full screen mode.
When I call the Quick Menu of QTP via my key and then click on the bottom menu item "QuickTextPaste", the QTP program window always opens full screen. In the past, a small window appeared instead (just like calling QTP via the System Tray).
-> How can I adjust this?
• What does "WinRC = 685; 307; 1235; 865; 1; x, y, w, h, SW" mean.
I found in the 'QuickTextPaste.ini' the line "WinRC = 685; 307; 1235; 865; 1; x, y, w, h, SW".
QTP actually stores the last window position and here it is read out
• Ditto - What does the entry 'TestIni = 1559832370' in the 'QuickTextPaste.ini' mean?

3.) 2020 do for Quick Text Paste!
Hi, first off I would like to congratulate you on an excellent application you have created, I have used it for a long time, and love it, its great to see that it uses minimal memory and is so very powerful and timesaving.
I have been patiently waiting for a few things to get fixed but since they haven't been as yet I thought I would contact you directly and mention them, taking the oppurtunity to let you know how cherished QTP is to me, maybe some of the things I will suggest below will hopefully make their way to your to-do list.
1) When you have "Show Info Tooltips" enabled, and then use a charmap: entry the tooltips displayed are incorrect for the charmap items, I suggest maybe you could just hide the tooltips for any charmap: items.
2) I only recently got around to triying out the "Import old INI file" menu item, and I wasn't expecting it to merge the selected ini file into the config, I would have thought that menu item would switch to an alternative INI file completely leaving the current config unaffected, is the way it works currently correct as is? Lucking I had a recent backup otherwise I would have specnt ages weeding out all the merged entries.
3) In the interface in default english language there are a few things that are incorrect, when you press the "Grouping" button the top entry is 'Kleine', I am not sure what that is meant to say, but that word isn't an english word so needs changing. Also in the context menu the last entry "Betta" isn't correct, not sure what it is meant to mean but it isn't an english word either, and the child items "Collaps" is missing an "e" off the end, they should read "Collapse" & "Collapse All", it would look a lot better to english users if these translation errors were rectified.
4) When using the main table area with the Grouping=Menu which allows collapse/expand, if you have an entry selected then scroll down the list then press an expand/collapse [+] symbol the item will get expanded/collapsed, but also the view will jump back up to where you were previously with an item selected, instead of just expanding the group so you can select a new item. I hope I have explained that clearly, basically if you leave the selection as the top item and then scroll down out of view and press an expand icon it will jump back upto the top instead of just expanding.
5) Also I noticed that when you have the Grouping=Kliene all the Expand/Collapse context menu entries are useless, so maybe they could be hidden or disabled when in that view mode? it took me second to realize why they did nothing the first time I used them.
6) A few versions ago you got rid of the yellow strip down the left of the popup QTP menus, which looks a lot more professional in my opinion, maybe you could consider doing the same for the tray icon context menu so it matches?
7) I know you have suggested that the search feature is coming, and there is a button for it in the GUI (which maybe could do with a tooltip?), but since it has been a while, I really hope you do integrate search functionality and haven't lost interest, it would be fantastic! I am really looking forward to that.
