Adjust the password expiry date via the command prompt!
In the command prompt you can adjust the password expiration date by defining it in the NET ACCOUNTS command!
It's that easy to adjust the password maximum age under all MS Windows 11, 10, ... desktop and server operating systems. Which incidentally increases the security on the Windows PC!
1.) Set the password expiry date via cmd.exe and NET!
Here in the example a password maximum age of 14 days, in order to request a password change by the system every two weeks !
wmic UserAccount set PasswordExpires=True
net accounts /maxpwage:14
You can also remove the password expiry date in the prompt by setting the maximum age to NULL!
net accounts /maxpwage:0
wmic UserAccount set PasswordExpires=False
2.) What should be considered when the password expires?
To ensure your security on the Windows OS, it is recommended that you change your computer's password from time to time. All Windows makes this easier if you set a simple password expiration date without having to install special security applications or APPS.
You can also ask for the password expiry date at any time in the prompt!
